Warner Bros. Discovery COVID-19 Data Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Warner Bros. Discovery (“we”, “us”), as data controller, will process your Personal Information collected on our COVID-19 screening and vaccination record app/website and otherwise in connection with our COVID-19-related safety processes and recommended health procedures. This Policy should be read in conjunction with the Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Workforce Privacy Notice (Global).

Purpose and Legal Basis

Employees, staff and long-term contractors

We are collecting and processing certain Personal Information from you for the purpose of protecting the health, safety and welfare of our staff and wider workforce involved during the COVID-19 pandemic.

1. If you are

  1. based in one of the following locations: Japan, Portugal, China, Canada, India, South Korea, UAE, Argentina, Colombia, or Mexico; or
  2. if you are not an employee of a WBD company (e.g., you are a freelancer) and based in Chile or Poland,

WBD relies on your explicit consent, which will be requested before we collect any of your Personal Information. In some jurisdictions you can withdraw your consent at any time by sending an email to wmprivacysupport@warnermedia.com.

2. If you are based in any other location:

WBD relies on the legitimate interest of protecting its workforce for this purpose. For special categories of data, such as health data including COVID-19 vaccination records, data relating to COVID-19 testing and screening information which relates to your health, we rely on the ground that this processing activity is necessary for our legal duties and responsibilities as an employer to provide a safe and secure working environment.

Type and Sources of Personal Information

We will collect your Personal Information directly from you, when you answer the relevant questions on our COVID-19 app, or take part in any of our COVID-19 health assessments or processes. This will include your name, role and work location (if relevant), production code (if relevant), health data relating to any COVID-related risk factors that may apply to you and, where you have received the COVID vaccine, the dates you have received each dose and the manufacturer of each dose. In addition, we may collect information relating to recent travel and/or data relating to a recent Covid-19 test (where relevant). Data relating to Covid-19 tests may be collected from a third party test provider where we arrange the test for you for work purposes. We may also process information relating to your religion if this is necessary for an accommodation process that applies in your location.

Sharing and retention

The Personal Information we hold as a result of you using our COVID-19 app or taking part in any of our COVID-19 health assessments or processes may be shared within the WBD group as necessary for the protection of our workforce, in particular with our security staff, HR staff, health personnel, management and your direct supervisor(s). Where necessary, this information may also be shared with other companies and organizations that we work with such as the relevant broadcaster(s), co-producer(s) or other third party production companies involved in the production, insurers, service providers such as providers of medical or physical security and those that operate and maintain this website. We will rely on your explicit consent to share this information where consent is required. Those service providers will only use the data for our purposes and at our direction. We may disclose this information to local health authorities where permitted or required by law. Your personal information will be retained for as long as is necessary for the purposes described above.
